Adepitan was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to disability sport in 2005.

Ade is patron of disability sport charity, WheelPower who are based at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the birthplace of the Paralympics. He is also one of the patrons of Go Kids Go! (formerly the Association of Wheelchair Children) which teaches young wheelchair-users to be independently mobile.
